Collision Report

Carol picked up the bike from the Fremont fire station today. I haven't seen it yet, but she made a wry comment about how I had some truin' to do. (My rear wheel is apparently toast)

I would post photo of my face, but I am afraid it would cause miscarriages.

On the positive side, I've probably acquired the ability to play some musical instrument. I just have to figure out which one. Bagpipes?

I am glad to be alive, and so far, not permanently injured. And thankful for police, EMT's, Harborview doctors and above all, Harborview nursing staff. And of course, Carol.

I am also thankful that the driver stopped after the accident. Not sure who made the call to 9-1-1 -- I assume it was she.

Ted, I am so glad to hear you're ok. I don't like the sound of Harborview though. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you heal up and are pedaling again soon. Are you home already or at Harborview? In either case, are you taking visitors? Wishing you a speedy recovery.

So sorry to hear, Ted. If there is any way we can help, please don't hesitate.

Oh no! I'm glad to hear you are OK and haven't broken bones. That is a weird place for an accident. I'm interested in knowing more about how that happened. Of all the places in Seattle, I would think that would be one where drivers would expect to find a cyclist.

Speedy recovery!

Yeah, Kevin. Right off the Fremont Bridge. Every day as I ride toward Fremont for work, I see flocks of cyclists come off the bridge and head up that hill. I'm perplexed, too. has no record of any bike accidents in that spot.

Well, hopefully, between the accident report and the bike itself, I'll be able to figure something out.
